Approach to Main Entrance: The main entrance is at street level through the main Sheriff Court gates and across the courtyard. There are two revolving doors. Alternatively there is an accessible door to the right of the courtyard which is activated by a push pad. This door is designed for wheelchair users.
Door Width: The door opening is approximately 160 centimetres in width giving access to the main foyer of the court building.

Approach to Reception Area There is a court reception point as soon as you come into the foyer of the building. The Procurator Fiscal Office reception is on the 6th floor. There are accessible lifts.
Our reception area is clearly signed and accessed through a single door from the main concourse then by a double door which opens outwardly. Assistance may be required to open these doors.

Our staff have a responsibility to ensure that they accompany any visitors during an emergency evacuation to the muster point designated in local Fire Evacuation Plans. Visitors must not be left unattended and should be accompanied at all times during an emergency evacuation until the all clear is given for re-entry to the building. Where appropriate a suitable emergency evacuation plan will be in place to ensure safe evacuation of disabled persons during an emergency situation.
