EQUALITY ADVISORY GROUP

CODE OF PRACTICE FOR EAG MEMBERS

This document sets out a Code of Practice for members of the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service Equality Advisory Group. This Code is not exhaustive. It has been prepared for the guidance of Advisory Group members.

The Group members should feel free to discuss potential changes and/or additions to the code with the Secretariat.

  • The discussions of the Group and the contents of the minutes (as agreed by the members) will be made public on the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Internet and Intranet.

  • The composition of the Group and the extent of its interests will vary depending on the nature of its work.

  • Information provided to Group members must be treated as confidential and should not be used or associated with external research.

  • Group members should declare any private interests that might conflict with the purpose of the group.

  • Membership of the Group will be determined by the COPFS, taking into account the views of the Chair and other Group members.

  • All proposed COPFS Press Releases concerning the work and discussion of the Group should be cleared with the Group members before they are issued.
