Introduction to Class
This class provides information about written protocols and internal guidance for delivering/meeting our functions and responsibilities.
- FOI/ERI/Data Protection User Guide 2009
- Human Resources, including performance appraisal and management, drug and alcohol policy, fair treatment policy and the staff handbook;
- Health and Safety;
- General Prosecution Policy and Guidance. This includes general legal guidance issued to Procurators Fiscal about the preparation and prosecution of all criminal cases. It includes details of guidance on the investigation of crime, precognition work, the investigation of sudden and suspicious deaths, guidance in relation to children as victims, witnesses or accused and COPF relationship with victims, witnesses and nearest relatives;
- Diversity, including guidance on the investigation of hate crime, cultural awareness, diversity proofing policy;
- Complaints Policy;
- Finance Manual;
- Information Systems code of conduct and e-mail guidance;
- Internal policies relating to environmental issues, which includes our Greening Government Policy and Buildings and Workplace Design Guide

COPFS document retention policy is contained in the Records Management Manual. The policy, which relates to retention of case papers by Procurators Fiscal and the length of time different types of cases must be kept is outlined in Crown Office Circular 10/2010
