Complaints Feedback Form

We will usually decline to deal with complaints made more than 6 months after the matter complained of. If you are making a complaint on behalf of someone else you should use our Have Your Say feedback and complaints form. Have you made contact with us already in relation to this matter? If so please quote the reference number you were initially provided with. This will help us to deal more quickly with your further enquiry.

If your complaint is about a particular case, if possible, you should provide:

  • the name of the accused person(s), the deceased, and/or other relevant names
  • the Procurator Fiscal (PF) reference number (or, if you do not know the PF reference, the police reference number)
  • the date and location of the incident concerned the police force that investigated the incident; and if relevant, the court that dealt with the case.
  • You should provide details of any member(s) of COPFS staff with whom you have already had contact regarding your complaint.
