The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service was first accredited as an Investor in People in 1996 and were re-accredited in September 2009 when we successfully achieved the silver status that we aimed for.

Every organisation requires to meet 39 evidence requirements to achieve the standard IIP accreditation, but "IIP New Choices" introduced a new grading system, of bronze, silver and gold - allowing organisations to be assessed against additional evidence requirements. To obtain bronze status, an organisation must achieve 65 evidence requirements, 115 for silver and 165 for gold. We chose to be assessed against 141 requirements, some of which were linked to our key priorities and others which we selected as development areas.

COPFS are committed to continuous improvement, carrying out our IIP assessments on a rolling programme.
