New Stranraer Procurator Fiscal

NEW STRANRAER PROCURATOR FISCAL

Kenneth Grieve has been appointed as the new District Procurator Fiscal for Stranraer by the Lord Advocate, Colin Boyd QC.

Mr Grieve will hold a commission for Stranraer Sheriff Court District and will act as the personal representative of the Lord Advocate on a day-to-day basis. He will have local responsibility for the investigation and prosecution of crime and the investigation of sudden, suspicious and unexplained deaths in Stranraer and will work closely with Dumfries and Galloway Area Procurator Fiscal, Thomas Dysart, who has full management and budgetary responsibility for the Dumfries and Galloway area.

The previous District Fiscal for Stranraer, Nicola Patrick, left to take up the post of Head of Training for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service in Edinburgh.

Mr Grieve said:

"I am looking forward to working with the Area Procurator Fiscal and the staff at Stranraer. I know that my predecessors have established strong working relationships with criminal justice partner agencies, and I look forward to building on these to ensure that we continue to deliver the modern prosecution service expected by the community in Stranraer."

Thomas Dysart, Area Fiscal, said:

Biography

Kenneth Grieve (45) is married with two children. He joined the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service in 1999, and has served in Paisley, and most recently the Greenock Procurator Fiscal office.
