The Scottish Parliament has passed the First Minister's motion seeking agreement of his recommendations of Elish Angiolini QC to be Lord Advocate and John Beckett QC to be Solicitor General. The appointment of the new Lord Advocate will become effective when the Queen grants the warrant of appointment.
