Unduly Lenient Sentence Appeal

APPEAL LODGED - BRIAN ANDERSON

The Lord Advocate has today lodged an appeal against the sentence imposed on Brian Anderson (45), who pled guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh to assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, permanent impairment and to the danger of life.

On 29 June 2007 the court sentenced him to six months imprisonment.

The Lord Advocate has the right of appeal against a sentence on the ground that it is unduly lenient.

The assault involved striking the victim on the head and body with a knife. The incident occurred in October 2006 in Dundee.
