At the High Court in Glasgow today, Christopher Miller (DOB 09/10/84) was convicted of the racially aggravated murder of Kunal Mohanty in Glasgow on 27 March 2009. He was also convicted of a racially aggravated breach of the peace at a fast food takeaway shortly after the murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a punishment part of 18 years.

On 1st September 2009 at the High Court in Glasgow Lisa Brown was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her mother Anne Brown. She was ordered to serve a punishment part of 20 years, during which she will not be eligible to apply for release. John Wilson had been convicted of culpable homicide and was sentenced to a total 12 years for his part in the killing.

At the High Court in Glasgow Derek Ferguson was today convicted of the murder of Steven Pettigrew in Airdrie on 1 April 2005. He was sentenced to life imprisonment and the judge imposed a punishment part of 18 years during which the accused will not be able to apply for parole.

At the High Court in Glasgow on Friday Anthony Collins was convicted of the murder of Andrew Devlin and the attempted murder of Gerald O’Doherty in Paisley on 3 August 2007. He was also convicted of attempting to defeat the ends of justice, firearms charges and being concerned in the supply of heroin. The charges against Richard McCondochie of murder, attempting to defeat the ends of justice and firearms offences were found not proven.

At the High Court in Glasgow Lisa Brown and John Wilson were today convicted of killing Lisa Brown’s mother Anne Brown. Lisa Brown was convicted of murder and John Wilson was convicted of culpable homicide. They were both also convicted of attempting to defeat the ends of justice. Sentencing has been deferred in respect of both accused until 27 August 2009.
