HMA v MOHAMMED ASIF

At the High Court in Glasgow today, Mohammed Asif (37) pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and amphetamine with a total street value in excess of £900,000 in various locations, including Alloa and Kirkcaldy, between April and June 2009.

Speaking after the hearing, Jim Robertson, District Procurator Fiscal at Kirkcaldy, said:

"Mohammed Asif was arrested in June 2009 following a lengthy and complex surveillance operation by Fife Constabulary. He was heavily involved in the trade of drugs in Alloa and Kirkcaldy.

"Drugs can have a terrible impact on lives and communities. Prosecutors and police are absolutely dedicated to ridding our towns and cities of drugs and bringing dealers to justice. I hope that Mohammed Asif's conviction today is particularly welcomed by the people of Kirkcaldy and Alloa and serves as a strong deterrent to others who still attempt to profit from this trade."
