Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service News Release
28 June 2010
HMA v Jason Kinnaird
At the High Court in Glasgow today Jason Kinnaird pled guilty to the murder of Johnny Moran.
Catriona Dalrymple, interim Area Procurator Fiscal for Fife, said:
"The murder of Johnny Moran was the result of a senseless, cowardly and extremely violent attack by Jason Kinnaird. Johnny Moran died after being repeatedly stabbed in the neck and body.
"Once again, we see the devastating effect that knives can have on individuals and on communities. There is no place in our society for those who use a knife to commit such acts. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that those who commit knife crime are brought to justice.
"I would like to express my sincere condolences to Mr Moran's family and friends, especially his children. Although today's news cannot undo the suffering that Jason Kinnaird has caused, I hope that all those who knew Mr Moran can take at least some comfort in knowing that his killer has been brought to justice."
