With regard to your request, I can advise that for the period between 1 January 2014 and 15 February 2015, 153 International Letters of Request (ILOR) were issued by COPFS. These include requests to a foreign jurisdiction for assistance in obtaining a variety of types of evidence for use in cases in
It should be noted that this total does not include requests to a foreign jurisdiction to set up a live television link between that jurisdiction and
I can advise that in respect of the offences involved in the ILORs issued, the offences involved were as follows:
47 financial offences
46 sexual offences
28 offences of violence
17 drugs offences
7 offences of dishonesty
8 miscellaneous other offences.
In respect of the number of ILORs which were received by COPFS between 1 January 2014 and 15 February 2015, I can advise that during that period 388 incoming mutual legal assistance files have been opened.
