Freedom of Information: Whistleblowing (R010373)
Thank you for your e-mail of 15 May 2015 under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA) in which you seek the following information:
“Following the convictions of staff employed by Edinburgh Council after a police investigation due to whistleblowing, how many whistleblowing allegations have been received by COPFS Management? How were these investigated and how many were upheld?”
Since 2013 three allegations have been made under the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) Whistleblowing Policy. Two of these were not upheld having been investigated internally. Due to the nature of the allegations raised it was not necessary to report them to any outside agency. The third allegation raised is still being investigated internally by COPFS.
