"1. How many AD's on full time contracts have there been in post in each year since 2009/10 including the current year;

2. The dates of public advertisements for full time AD posts in each year since 2009/10 including the current year;

3. The number of candidates and appointments made following public advertisements for full time AD posts in each year since 2009/10 including the current year;

4. The dates of public advertisements for ad hoc or short term AD posts in each year since 2009/10 including the current year;

5. The number of candidates and appointments made following public advertisements for ad hoc or short term AD posts in each year since 2009/10 including the current year;

6. The number of ad hoc or short term ADs who have been converted to full time AD posts in each year since 2009/10 including the current year"

Please note that data in relation to Senior AD appointments in 2010/11 is no longer held.

The full time Crown Counsel cadre comprises Senior and Trial ADs who serve for an agreed fixed term which may be extended by the Lord Advocate. Ad Hoc ADs are called on from time to time to undertake specific cases or pieces of work.
