"Proud in COPFS" has been recognised by Stonewall Scotland as its top Scottish Network Group 2015.
The award recognises the “huge success” that the group has had in supporting LGBT colleagues and raising awareness of LGBT equality issues. And it follows the recent announcement that COPFS is 8th in Stonewall’s top UK employers, and the top Scottish public sector employer.
David Casey and Ruaraidh Ferguson, Proud in COPFS Network Leaders, said today the award was recognition for all those working to make COPFS inclusive for staff and service users.
“Proud in COPFS are delighted - this award is an excellent achievement for us and it has given us the confidence that our activities are reaching out to the right people and having a real impact on our LGBT colleagues and service users.”
In its new guide to the Top Scottish Employers 2015, Stonewall Scotland said Proud in COPFS deserved recognition for raising awareness and promoting understanding of LGBT equality issues across Scotland.
Catherine Dyer, Crown Agent, said the award underlined the commitment to creating inclusive workplaces for staff and confidence among LGBT people to engage with COPFS.
“This continued success also sends a strong message to those using our service. It is essential that people have confidence they will be treated with professionalism and respect by Scotland's sole prosecuting authority”.
