A former teacher turned TV weatherman has been jailed for four years and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for abusing school boys in his care.

A man who orchestrated a highly complex series of mortgage frauds has been jailed for a total of 11 years. 52 year old Edwin McLaren conned dozens of victims over the course of several years.

McLaren was convicted on 29 charges after a successful prosecution case spanning the longest criminal trial in Scottish legal history.
