The Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to have an impact on the Scottish criminal justice system. COPFS is working closely with justice partners and with Scottish Government on measures which will support the fair and effective administration of justice whilst respecting the public health guidance which has been issued.
All court buildings are open for criminal trials to take place. The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) continues with safety measures to protect court users.
Information for victims and witnesses
If you have a witness citation you should come to court unless you have been expressly told by us not to do so.
If you have COVID-19, or are self-isolating, please contact our Enquiry Point.
We recognise that the pandemic has caused delays in the criminal justice system and we are doing all that we can to ensure that cases can be heard as soon as possible.
We will keep you updated on the progress of your case. If you have a specific query around your case and we will help you. You can contact our Enquiry Point. Witnesses in cases covered by our Victim Information and Advice (VIA) Service should contact the VIA officer assigned to your case.
You can find further information about the support you can get on our Support and services pages.
