Details

This protocol has been developed through the representative bodies of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Association of Chief Police Officers (Scotland) (ACPOS), the British Transport Police (BTP), and the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) to support joint working to investigate work-related deaths in Scotland, and where appropriate, to prosecute.

This protocol covers areas including the initial action, management of the investigation, decision making, disclosure of materials, special inquiries, the prosecution process, and fatal accident inquiries.
