COPFS launches new accessible website for service users

Today COPFS launches a new website to help the Scottish public access its services.

The website was redeveloped with the aim of creating a more accessible and user-friendly experience for those involved in criminal cases and death investigations.

About the new website

The website redevelopment is part of our pledge to improve the service we provide, as detailed in our 2020-23 Strategic Plan. The new site was designed in consultation with our service users to better meet the needs of all audiences through improved design, performance, content and usability.

The new site is designed to be:

  • Easy to understand – the content is clear and concise so users of most reading abilities can understand the information.
  • Accessible for everyone – meeting our legal responsibility as a public organisation to provide information in formats accessible to everyone.
  • Simpler and easier to use – the new structure displays information clearly, with page titles and content created around common search terms.
  • Transparent and informative about the justice process and investigation of deaths – we have new information for victims and witnesses of crime, and guidance to support bereaved relatives in death investigations.

The site will continue to be developed in the upcoming months and will soon see the introduction of informational videos.

How to submit feedback

There is an option to submit your feedback at the bottom of every page on the website. We are encouraging all users of our new website to submit feedback so that we can gather insights and continue to improve the site. We would like to hear from you about your experience using the website and if there are any areas that you think could be developed further.
