Crown Agent appointment confirmed

John Logue confirmed as Crown Agent and Chief Executive of the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS).

John Logue has been confirmed as Crown Agent and Chief Executive of the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS).

The appointment was made following an open Civil Service competition overseen by the Civil Service Commission.

John has been serving as interim Crown Agent since September 2022. This appointment confirms he will remain in post. John brings significant prosecutorial experience to the role. He first joined COPFS in 1994 as a trainee solicitor before holding a variety of roles, starting his career as a Procurator Fiscal Depute in Stranraer and Kirkcudbright and then serving as a Principal Depute, Head of Policy and Procurator Fiscal. John was appointed Deputy Crown Agent in 2016.
