Parking facilities

There are private parking facilities at this office. To request advice about parking for disabled drivers please contact our office manager.

Approach to main entrance

The main entrance is level, however, some wheelchair users may require assistance as the main door opens outwards. 

Door width: the entrance door opens to 1.2m

Low level bell: A door entry call system is in place. The call button is situated to the right of main door. A member of our staff will release the door to allow you access into the main foyer.

Approach to reception area

There is a shared reception between SCTS and COPFS situated on the ground floor. The Procurator Fiscal's office is situated on the second floor of the Sheriff Clerks building. Lift access is only available to the first floor with stairs to the second floor. Should any visitors who are unable to use the stairs need to speak to the Procurator Fiscal, arrangements can be made on the ground floor.

Low level bell: There is a low level bell to the right of the public counter.

There is seating available in our reception area. Please ask if you need extra assistance.

Interview rooms are situated next to the Reception Area which is accessed via a secure entry door.

Emergency evacuation

Our staff have a responsibility to ensure that they accompany any visitors during an emergency evacuation to the muster point designated in local Fire Evacuation Plans. Visitors must not be left unattended and should be accompanied at all times during an emergency evacuation until the all clear is given for re-entry to the building. Where appropriate a suitable emergency evacuation plan will be in place to ensure safe evacuation of disabled persons during an emergency situation.

Colour definition

Where possible, our office uses colour definition to indicate changes in floor levels, doors, steps or stairs and emergency signs.

Written documents

We will try to make information available in a suitable format to meet your particular needs. To request correspondence and/or documents in your preferred accessible format, please contact us.

Our office welcomes guide dogs

The dog's comfort is your responsibility but we will provide a bowl of water on request.

The lift has raised floor indicator buttons. (The lift is only available to the first floor).

Hearing aid users

A Hearing Induction Loop System is installed in the reception area. A mobile Hearing Induction Loop is available for use in any of our interview rooms.

Lip readers

Our staff are issued with good-practice guidance and we will make efforts to provide adequate lighting in any interview space to suit your needs.

Access to Sign Language interpreter

If you need us to have an interpreter available, you must let us know as soon as possible, so that we have enough time to arrange this. Please contact the office manager.

Textphone users

You can access our services by calling through the RNID Typetalk service using the prefix 18001. There are no public textphones in this office.

Accessible lift system

The lift has illuminated floor level indicators. (The lift is only available to the first floor).

Emergency alarms

There are currently no visual or personal alarm systems in this office. Please advise our staff of your needs.

Accessible toilet and comfort facilities

Public toilets

There are no public toilets in our office. The nearest public toilet is situated on the ground floor within the main foyer of the building.

Wheelchair-accessible toilets

Unisex accessible toilets are available on the ground floor. A pull cord is located in this toilet.
