This guidance informs and assists COPFS and Police Scotland in respect of best practice when dealing with offences of forced marriage, where there is a background of forced marriage and where a Forced Marriage Protection Order may be required.
It highlights the importance of working with third sector partners and in particular agencies supporting victims of forced marriage and to deal with all cases on an individual basis with an assessment of risk posed to the victim.
