This protocol outlines the procedures and practices that will be followed by Police Scotland and COPFS in the investigation, reporting and prosecution of allegations involving domestic abuse.

This protocol covers all aspects of the procedures and practices to be followed including initial action and investigation, safeguarding of children, reporting of cases, decision making, prosecution and the Crown's approach to bail.
